Seventh Grade

Seventh Grade recognizes students within the class for working at an exceptional level in regard to their attitude, aptitude and effort. “Honors” and “Exemplar” awards acknowledge and encourage students as they continue through the rigorous, relevant, and enriching educational experience. The focus at this age is on the development of the social skills needed to work effectively in collaborative teams as well as demonstrating the ability to work independently. Seventh Grade students are guided through the serious issue of cyber, physical, and emotional bullying and its effect on health and social issues. In the process, students learn how to identify these behaviors and how to react to them in a healthy manner. Students are supported by their advisor and the strong bond that has developed within their advisory peer group through the Middle School Advisory program. Leadership plays an integral role in the Seventh Grade experience with students participating in a Leadership and Team Building field study at the Pali Institute in the San Bernardino mountains.
